About Sanchay Hisab

A free tool that helps people in Bangladesh work out what their savings certificates will actually pay.

What this site is for

Sanchaypatra rules are spread across notifications, scheme sheets and budget announcements, and the profit you actually receive depends on your total holding, your purchase date and the tax rate. Sanchay Hisab puts these together so you can see, in taka, what a certificate will pay before you buy it.

The calculator shows the profit for each payout, the tax deducted and the total you receive. The compare page lines up all five schemes, the guides explain each one, and the rates page keeps the history of revisions.

Independent and unofficial

Sanchay Hisab is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with the Government of Bangladesh, the National Savings Directorate, Bangladesh Bank, the National Board of Revenue, any bank or the post office, and it does not sell or recommend any financial product.

Results are estimates. The issuing office's figure is final.

How the calculations work

  • Your total holding across all schemes, including this purchase, decides the rate slab and the source tax rate.
  • The rates are those in force on your purchase date, and they stay fixed for the whole tenure.
  • Schemes that pay at maturity (the 5-year certificate and the Post Office fixed deposit) earn simple profit at the yearly rate, paid once together with the principal.
  • Schemes that pay regularly divide the yearly rate by the number of payouts in a year, and source tax is taken from each payout.
  • Early encashment uses the rate for the number of completed years. Profit already paid above that rate is deducted from the principal, and the calculator deducts the gross excess, which is the cautious reading.

Sources and verification

Rates come from official notifications of the Internal Resources Division and decisions of the Finance Division. Scheme rules such as eligibility, ceilings and benefits come from the National Savings Directorate's scheme sheets, and tax rules from the National Board of Revenue. The current rates were last verified on 24 Oct 2026, and the rates in force are officially kept for Jul–Dec 2026.

Older rate sets are kept so that earlier purchases can still be calculated. Some early encashment figures in historic sets come from press reports, and each rate set names its source on the rates page.

Keeping rates current

Rates are normally reviewed every January and July. When the government revises them, a new rate set is added here and the older ones are kept. If you notice a rate, rule or date that is out of date, please write to us and we will check it against the official source.
