Sanchaypatra rates and history

The profit rates for every scheme in force today, the early encashment rates, and how the government has revised rates since 2021.

Current rates

These rates apply to certificates bought from 1 Jul 2025 and are the rates the government has officially kept for Jul–Dec 2026. The percentages are yearly rates for a certificate held to maturity. A certificate keeps the rate it was bought at for its whole tenure.

Each scheme has two rates, one for each slab. The slab depends on your total Sanchaypatra holding across all schemes, including the purchase you are making.

3-Month11.82%11.77%

How the slab works

If your total holding is ৳7.5 lakh or less, you get the first-slab rate; if it is above ৳7.5 lakh, you get the second-slab rate. The slab is decided by the total, not by the single certificate, and the whole certificate earns that rate; the first ৳7.5 lakh is not rated separately from the rest.

In practice this means a purchase that takes your total over the slab limit earns the higher-slab rate on the entire new certificate. If you are close to the limit, compare the two outcomes before buying.

The rate is locked at purchase

The rate in force on the day you buy is the rate you receive for the whole tenure. When the government revises rates later, the change affects only certificates bought after the new rates start. This is why the history below matters: a certificate bought in an earlier period still pays the rate of that period.

Early encashment rates

If you encash before maturity, you are paid at a lower rate that depends on how many full years you completed. Nothing is earned before the first year ends. For schemes that pay profit regularly, any profit already paid above the early rate is deducted from your principal when you encash.

The tables below show the early rates for certificates bought at the current rates.

Rate history

From September 2021, rates were set in three slabs by total holding: up to ৳15 lakh, from ৳15 lakh to ৳30 lakh, and above ৳30 lakh.

On 1 Jan 2025 this was replaced by two slabs, up to and above ৳7.5 lakh, and rates rose: by about 1.1 percentage points for the smallest holders and about 3.1 points for the largest.

On 1 Jul 2025 rates were cut, under a notification from the Internal Resources Division dated 30 June 2025.

A further cut was notified on 30 December 2025 but suspended on 4 January 2026, so the July 2025 rates stayed in force for January to June 2026. The Finance Division decided on 2 July 2026 to keep them for July to December 2026.

Each rate set below is kept so that certificates bought in earlier periods can still be calculated.
